A rank tracker that needs no exports

Most ranking reports start with a manual export. A rank tracker built on your own Search Console data keeps the report current on its own.

Ranking reports that are old by the time you read them

Someone exports a file, pastes it into a sheet and builds the chart. By the time the report reaches you, it describes last month.

The export also loses the link between a search and the page it found. You see positions, but not which page earns them.

What we built: a rank tracker on Search Console data

We built a rank tracker for a services business that pulls its own data on a schedule. Jobs read searches, pages, positions and image search data straight from Search Console. Search Console is Google’s free report on how your site shows up in search.

The data is already yours. Search Console returns clicks, impressions and average position by search and by page through its Search Analytics API, the feed that hands that data to a program (Google Search Central, 2026). The job is to collect it on time and keep it in one place. Saving every pull keeps the history Search Console drops after its rolling window of past months.

How it runs day to day

The report refreshes itself.

Three jobs it does on its own

  • Pulled on a schedule

Searches, pages, positions and image search data come in on their own.

  • Each search matched to its page

You see which page a search finds and which page earns each click.

  • Related searches tracked over time

Searches are grouped into families, with positions recorded at every pull.

Questions about rank tracker reports

Is Search Console data good enough for a rank tracker?

It is Google’s own record of real searches for your site. Average positions, clicks and impressions come straight from the source.

Do I still need a paid SEO tool?

For your own rankings, no. Paid tools add competitor and backlink data, which this report does not cover.

Do we need a developer to set this up?

Not for a weekly view in Search Console. Jobs that pull, match and store the data on a schedule need a builder.
